GoodTimes with Mo,Mojo and Grace Lee : October 7,2008 show

Goodtimes with Mojo

Friends have commented that ever since the Twister and Grace Lee are somewhere out yonder, Mojo Jojo has been quite a revelation. His voice today has been quite mesmerizing (is that a gay remark? :), very Tom Hanks (think of the Captain commanding the troops in 'Saving Private Ryan'). Well, he sounds very commanding because he has no choice - he is the leader of the booth comprised of Junior DJ's Lexie from the Ateneo and Dale (six foot behemoth from CSB who happens to be a volleyball varsity player.)

It's nice that the attention shifts to Mojo when Mo and Grace aren't here, because he really is a nice guy (well he still wakes up late) despite being branded a 'pathological liar', 'homo' or an 'a-hole' by the Mohan. Good work, Mojo!!

Mother of all Scams

An interesting discussion on scams originated early on when Mojo mentioned that he tried to buy a Blue Ray video game version, only to discover that of course a game as cheap as a pirated one couldn't possibly have Blue Ray capabilities.

Which led to a discussion about fake Philippine Adidas jackets proliferating in the multiply sites. Mojo got a call from an Adidas representative here that almost all these jackets sold are not the genuine article. (The Twister had mentioned last month that if you own this jacket, you should keep it under lock and key because it's not being sold anymore.)

Mojo asks callers to narrate their experiences on scams, and what do you know, someone calls about his fascinating tale as a 'would be' (he discontinued because of guilt) scam artist. Apparently, this guy is paid P60,000 a month, and his job was to 'pop up' when you're in YM or Skype as 'Liza' and lure you to go to a link where you see 'Liza'naked and dancing. 'Would be' scam artist said his usual targets are gullible Caucasian men willing to pay $5 per dance (?) until you're truly fooled into parting with a hefty sum until your pockets are empty.

B, another caller recounted receiving a text message telling him that he won a car. Apparently the car was in Cebu, and to facilitate its release, one had to fork in an initial P7,000. B knew that it was a scam, nevertheless he was just curious about how the scammers conducted their business, with the intention of providing this info to his NBI friend.

Another caller mentioned that they were paid P60,000 a month as a call center agent and all they did in that hellhole was to sell fake stocks.

Mojo asks - are we a nation of scammers? It seems many of our countrymen are either producers or consumers of fraudulent schemes. I believe that good people will overpower these evil dudes, and they'll fry in eternity trying to live off on their fake scams.

Helena Rising

A caller named Helena sounded so problematic - she was a 'Bo' but couldn't admit it to her family and family because they were too conservative.

Any advice from the Mojo?

Mojo advices that we usually underestimate our family, and that once one 'comes out' the initial shock shrivels and one's sexual orientation is accepted after a time.

If this is impossible, it's important to be independent and be self-supporting so that one can live life according to one's beliefs.

Spoken like a true 'homo'. as the Twister would say :)

Growth Spurts

There were many other topics, but talk at one time ventured about Mojo's observations that children of this generation are 'hobbits'. And studies have proven (according to Mojo) that the previous generation was taller. The lifestyle today is not conducive to producing giants because many people are sleep deprived. Mojo observed that when he walked around the malls at night, there were many parents with children awake at a late hour. According to Dr. Mojo, one needs uninterrupted sleep to spur growth because the growth hormone is only released after three hours of sleep.

Sleep and grow, should be your mantra if you want to be a giant beanpole.

Goodtimes!!!
