Advanced Happy Birthday Greetings to Grace Lee!

October 4 will be Grace Lee's birthday, and since this day falls on a Saturday, Goodtimes will host a special birthday special for a very special lady tomorrow.

I've asked many people and the common comment among many friends is that this girl is one of the nicest, most sincere people to walk on Planet Earth. She can be a tad conservative, but she's very 'dalagang Pilipina', and that's a plus to a boy who'd want to bring home a very nice girl to Mama.

To dear Grace Lee, advance Happy Birthday!! Good luck tomorrow! I understand you'll be strapped with a lie detector test, and asked to answer questions from the Twister.
What a show!! Let's see if you'll survive the taunting. Good times!!

Have a great day!!

Manny Villar

Towards the third hour of the show, the VIP guest Manny Villar came on board. This billionaire cum Senate President started out in very humble beginnings. The second of nine children, Manny started selling seafood at the Divisoria Market at an early age.

Via Wikipedia, "While Manny Villar was a working student, he was also putting in long hours as a fish and shrimp trader: working where the action starts during the wee hours of the morning when the freshly caught seafood arrives at market grounds. As a working student, he was able to put himself through school by finishing his studies at the University of the Philippines where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Business Administration.

With an initial capital of P10,000 in 1975, Villar purchased two reconditioned trucks and started his sand-and-gravel business in Las PiƱas.

He started a gravel and sand business and then went on to establish one of the largest development firms in the Southeast Asian region, the Camella & Palmera Homes."

The Twister had a lot of questions to the Senate President, but what I found interesting were his answers on corruption.

Mo asked what he'd do when 'intuitively' Villar knows he is working with corrupt people, would he confront it, what would Villar do? Mo said that if that was his same situation, he'd find it very hard to work in the same condition.

Manny Villar answered it best when he said that one should remain an optimist despite the harshest conditions. One should not dwell on what isn't but what are the givens in the situation you find yourself in. One should proceed from what is real, rather than what is not there, and make the best of a bad situation.

When Mojo asked if Villar is for gay marriage, Villar said that personally he believes that 'you can do whatever you want to do in your private life', but as a lawmaker, he will make laws that are for the good of many people, not just a few.

I've always been impressed with this dude, and the way he lifted himself from penurious circumstances. I'd vote him for President because Bayani might create a Philippine currency with pink notes in it. Eeeeeeh!!!!

The Snubbed Fan

A caller named Emil, who was quite unusually perky and jolly at 8:45 am, had a quite semi-tragic tale to tell the listeners:) He was snubbed by Mojo in perhaps one of his diva moments (perhaps he was in a hurry to smoke, pagpasensiyahan na ninyo!). Poor guy Emil had a picture of the Goodtimes crew (did I hear it right?), and wanted Mojo to autograph the pic. It turns out that Mojo turned his back on them and went out in a hurry to smoke.

There was a mini dog-cat fight that ensued when Mo Twister heard it. At first he defends Mojo for not truly being a deliberate snob, but then again, the Twister tells Emil that he was snubbed perhaps because he was not handsome enough or not a half-breed.

Mojo said that perhaps he misunderstood the situation and the fan was mumbling.

Anyway, poor Emil has learned his lesson, but despite it all, he still called the show and remained his happy, joyful self, even making a comment that he loved the radio show "Goodtimes". Now, who is the real star here? Emil, pa - burger ka naman. Burger! Burger!
