GoodTimes with Mo,Mojo and Grace Lee (One Night in Paris) : Oct 8 show

From Mo Twister's Diary:

It's 11pm, October 7 and I'm exhausted! I've been touring the Louvre Museum the whole day, and my feet are killing me. I was stuck at the Egyptian antiquities section, when I couldn't peel myself away from the bones of the last Egyptian Pharoahs to Cleopatra. Did you know that under the Greek Ptolemaic rulers, Egypt became part of the Persian and Macedonian empires, facilitating the spread of its distinctive culture throughout the Hellenistic world?

Oops, that must have been pretty boring huh, but I can't help myself. I just love looking at the ancient objects from Egypt.

It's 6:15 am, October 8,Manila time and I've logged in to the Magic 899 site, and I could hear some music, but no Mojo in sight. Is he awake already? Darn it! No Grace Lee to check on him. Mojo must be snoring this minute.

Oh, before I forget. This is the place I'm crashing in now. Cool huh? I found this place at this cool website www.vrbo.com.

It has an unbeatable location - it's 200 meters from the Louvre Museum, next to an historic passageway leading directly to the Palais Royal with its covered arcades and gardens. It's also close to "boulangerie" rue Moliere and local grocery shops on Rue de Richelieu.

6:40 am and I check on Mojo again. Music still playing. Where is that thickhead?

Speaking about thick planks, my humble abode has thick, white parquet floors. It's tiny, just 50 square meters Mediterranean style decoration with white parquet floors, but hear this, it has fireplaces in the sitting room and the bedroom. Sweet! The bedroom, sitting room and kitchen all face the roof level of the Palais Royal buildings which are lower on a side street with very little traffic.

6:59 am and I again check Mojo. He's still not there!! Golly, holy Molly! Yesterday, I've read blogs saying that Mojo was quite the Captain of the Ship, ably guiding the show with the Junior Jocks. Now, he's Mojo the Diva once more.

"Qu’elle heure est-il?" a gentle voice from the kitchen. Oops, that's a friend whom I've invited to look at the sights from my apartment. She looks at me, and asked what time it is. I'll keep her identity a secret, but there's hell to pay. .she looks pretty impatient already given the late hour, and me still fooling around in my laptop straining to hear the elusive voice of Mojo.

"Ou est le bistro?" I asked. If Mojo isn't there in 5 minutes, I'm going down to get a bite to eat.

7:10 am, Manila time and Mojo is finally on board. My God! If I was there, I'd wring his neck. I maximize the volume, and guess what I'd hear!

Rings and proposals and diamonds from My Diamonds? I'd spend five minutes on that topic and move on. Why did Mojo pick this topic? Because many of his friends are getting hitched? Still, it's such a boring topic.

"C’est là-bas," my companion is pointing out towards the window. "Le bistro."

I go over to the window and look at what my friend is pointing out. Yes, the bistro, with people spilling out, drinking coffee and just having a jolly time.

It's midnight, but hey, I'm in Paris and the night is young. Better to eat now and think about what I'd do to Mojo once I get back to Manila.

I hope my avid fan/listeners don't die of boredom while Mojo is steering the wheel at Goodtimes.

"Le gâteau garni de crème au beurre?" She's asking if I'd like a butter cream cake.

"Oui! Let's go." She smiles.

I look out again at the window, looking at the lights of Paris. It's beautiful. But I really miss Manila.Wish I was there right now.

Gays after 30

As a keen observer of humnanity, the Twister really nailed an insight I've also had since time immemorial - why is it that the Mo's (homo's) after turning 30 years old seem such an unsightly sight?

Mo asked Mojo to be quite honest and answer this question - when was his heyday as a gay guy? And Mojo said that he remembered being young and gay, and tabs for drinks were paid by other gay dudes by the truckload. Now it's the other way around.

Mojo poignantly told the listeners to enjoy their youth, because (as a gay guy) an old crotchety homosexual is as attractive as a mouse squashed by the road at midnight (especially in Manila). Terribly unsightly!

Whereas, a man gets more attractive as he ages.

Mojo Bashing Day

Photo: www.magic899.fm

A funny thing happened on the way to the airport. The Goodtimes hosts were bound for Hong Kong and Mojo went ahead the previous night with his "bakla friends" (according to Mohan) and as a consequence was absent for the September 11 show.

So guess what happened? It was Mojo bashing day! Mo mused on the reasons why Mojo seems to dislike him at times. Perhaps, it's because Mo Twister knows a secret or two about Mojo? Maybe he didn't really study in Harvard, as the Mojo claims. It's one of those things were you've just gone to a seminar in Harvard and yet brag that you've been a full-time student?

"Yung baklang yun!" even dear Grace Lee had a snippy comment or two when she heard from Mo that a station tag derisively describing both of them(which Mo thinks is written by Mojo) was said on air.

Well, it's easy to dig for information if Mojo really studied in Harvard. And if it's confirmed that it's not, what do you think would the Twister do with the information? I think he'll tease Mojo mercilessly until the day he dies. Well, that's what you get for lying.

September 8 show

The Most Hilarious Moment on Radio

I almost died laughing hearing the two girls from Glendale, who didn't know where "Ma ka ti" was. Or "Tag a tay". I thought they were born in the US of A, only to find out they arrived in the US from the Philippines only two years ago.

Oh me gash! Kalesh was right! These two are soul mates of Nonoy the Menggoy!

I wonder which area they've lived in the Philippines while they were here? Perhaps a rock someplace between China Sea and the Pacific Ocean?

Mojo mentioned that it would be nice if these two "Glendale" girls could visit tomorrow, and perhaps have Nonoy be present too. I could imagine all the listeners ending up in stitches wherever they'll be - in public buses, tricycles, the LRT just listening to those two.

Abangan!

Camp Rock

Songs Played Today

It's funny how Mojo plays songs that he can't get away with when the Twister is around. One of these is "This is Me" which seems to be Mojo's favorite after apparently watching the debut opening of the movie "Camp Rock" last night at the Disney Channel.

As a bonus, here are the words to "This is Me", courtesy of www.lyricsmania.com :
Camp Rock - This Is Me lyrics
Album: Camp Rock
Year: 2008
Title: This Is Me

I've always been the kind of girl
That hid my face
So afraid to tell the world
What I've got to say
But I have this dream
Right inside of me
I'm gonna let it show, it's time
To let you know
To let you know

This is real, this is me
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now
Gonna let the light, shine on me
Now I've found, who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me

Do you know what it's like
To feel so in the dark
To dream about a life
Where you're the shining star
Even though it seems
Like it's too far away
I have to believe in myself
It's the only way

This is real, This is me
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now
Gonna let the light, shine on me
Now I've found, who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me

You're the voice I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singing
I need to find you, I gotta find you
You're the missing piece I need
The song inside of me
I need to find you, I gotta find you

This is real, this is me
I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now
Gonna let the light, shine on me
Now I've found, who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me
You're the missing piece I need
The song inside of me (this is me)
You're the voice I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singing
Now I've found, who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me
